Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how MakeLabs uses cookies and similar technologies on Audio Node (audionode.dev). We have deliberately designed Audio Node to be minimal in its use of cookies and to respect your privacy. This policy gives you full transparency about what we set and why.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — such as your login state — to improve your experience and to enable certain features.

2. Cookies We Use

Audio Node uses only one cookie:

This session cookie is:

• HttpOnly — not accessible to JavaScript, protecting against XSS attacks;
• Secure — only transmitted over HTTPS connections;
• SameSite=Lax — limits cross-site transmission to reduce CSRF risk;
• Set and managed by Clerk, our authentication provider.

3. Cookies We Do NOT Use

We explicitly do not use:

• Analytics cookies — we do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, or similar analytics tools that track user behaviour across pages;
• Advertising cookies — we do not serve ads and do not place any third-party advertising cookies;
• Social media tracking cookies — we have no Facebook Pixel, Twitter Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or similar trackers;
• Cross-site tracking — we do not track you across other websites;
• Fingerprinting — we do not use browser fingerprinting or similar techniques to identify your device.

4. Local Storage & Session Storage

Audio Node may store small amounts of data in your browser's local storage or session storage to preserve your preferences within the dashboard (such as your last selected voice or editor state). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some third-party services embedded in Audio Node may set their own cookies:

• Clerk (authentication): Sets the session cookie described above;
• Stripe (payment processing): May set cookies during the checkout flow to prevent fraud and enable the secure payment form. These are strictly necessary for payment processing and governed by Stripe's Cookie Policy.

We do not control the cookies set by these third parties. Please review their respective privacy and cookie policies for more information.

6. Managing Cookies

Because we use only one strictly necessary cookie, disabling or deleting cookies in your browser will prevent you from staying logged in to Audio Node. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data;
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data;
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data;
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Note that deleting the session cookie will log you out. You can log back in at any time.

7. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signal. Because Audio Node does not engage in cross-site tracking, the practical effect of DNT on our Service is negligible — we respect your privacy by default, regardless of DNT signals.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we add new cookies or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy and notify you through the usual channels (email or in-app notice) before they take effect.
