Audio Node

Commercial License Terms

Last updated: June 22, 2026

These Commercial License Terms (“License Terms”) define the rights granted to Audio Node subscribers regarding the audio files (“Output”) generated using the Service. These License Terms form part of and are incorporated into the Terms of Service.

1. License by Plan

Upon generating Output, MakeLabs grants you a license to use that Output as follows:

Free Plan — Personal License

You may use Output for personal, non-commercial purposes only. This includes:

  • Personal projects, hobbies, and learning;
  • Non-monetized personal social media posts;
  • Internal use within your household.

Commercial use, monetization, or client work is not permitted on the Free plan.

Creator Plan — Standard Commercial License

You may use Output for commercial purposes, including:

  • YouTube videos, podcasts, and online content with monetization;
  • Social media content for your own brand or business;
  • Freelance projects delivered to clients;
  • E-learning courses and educational content you sell;
  • Advertisements and promotional material for your own business;
  • Mobile apps and software you develop and distribute.

Pro Plan — Extended Commercial License

All Creator plan rights, plus:

  • Broadcast media (TV, radio, streaming platforms);
  • Audiobooks and long-form narration for commercial sale;
  • IVR and telephony systems for your business;
  • SaaS products and applications with audio features for paying users.

Studio Plan — Enterprise Commercial License

All Pro plan rights, plus:

  • High-volume production environments;
  • Agency use across multiple client projects;
  • ACX audiobook production for Amazon and Audible;
  • Film, documentary, and long-form video production;
  • Multi-product commercial deployment at scale.

2. What You Own

Subject to these License Terms and your subscription remaining active, you own the Output you generate and may use it perpetually — even after cancelling your subscription — provided the Output was generated during a valid subscription period. The license granted to Output already generated does not expire upon subscription cancellation.

3. What Is Always Prohibited

Regardless of your plan, you may never:

  • Resell voice access: You may not resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to Audio Node's voices or the Service itself, including building a competing TTS product that serves Audio Node voices to third parties;
  • Train AI models: You may not use Output to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or benchmark any AI voice synthesis, text-to-speech, or machine learning model;
  • Impersonation: You may not use Output to impersonate any real individual without their explicit written consent;
  • Harmful content: You may not use Output for any purpose prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy;
  • Claim voice ownership: You may not claim to own, trademark, or register the voices themselves — MakeLabs and/or the upstream model licensors retain all rights in the voice models.

4. Attribution

Attribution to Audio Node or MakeLabs is not required for any plan. You are free to use Output in commercial projects without crediting Audio Node, though we always appreciate a mention.

5. Non-Exclusivity & Non-Uniqueness

The license granted is non-exclusive. Multiple Audio Node users may generate identical or substantially similar Output by submitting the same or similar Input with the same voice. MakeLabs makes no guarantees that your Output will be unique or that other users will not receive the same or similar audio. If exclusivity is critical for your use case, you should not rely solely on Audio Node to achieve it.

6. Upstream Model License

Audio Node's TTS engine uses open-source AI voice models provided under commercially permissive third-party licenses. MakeLabs grants you commercial rights to Output through your subscription. You are accessing these models as a hosted service and should rely on this commercial license — not the upstream open-source model license — for your commercial rights, as the upstream license terms may differ depending on how the model is accessed.

7. License Termination

Your right to generate new commercial Output requires an active paid subscription. If your subscription lapses, you retain the license for Output already generated, but may not generate new Output under commercial license terms until you reactivate a paid plan. MakeLabs may also terminate or revoke this license immediately if you violate these License Terms or the Terms of Service.
